you cant control other peoples free will, (well not entirely), but their actions may impose on you in a destiny fasion correct? So is 'destiny', in a way just a different perspective of free will. But death on the other hand is another form of destiny, which is completely unrelated to free will.
Do you believe there to be a 3rd aspect to life, one involving chance/randomness? (because the word destiny implies an aim or reason. eg the random recombination of genes during meiosis will affect who you are genetically.

that's interesting way to look at it. there is nothing we could compare to death. i think just because it is someone elses' free will would not make 'result' a different kind of destiny. a man could get killed by another man. his death would be his destiny, it does not matter how it comes. the one who kills, that is free will of someone else too. do you think that unique combination of your DNA is built by chance? there is only one thing i could not find in Islam so far, that would be the third one. it is all based on two. each one may contain another two. but there is never a 'third' ![]() .

What kind of act would cause my death?

There is most definately mechanisms that aid in deciding your genotype, but there is also random combination chance also. Free will, Destiny and Chance ...a strong tripod ![]()

i can not know that. there is no certain type of act that causes death. could be any. but time and place of death could not change by personal acts.
take suicide as an example. there is free will involved. suicide is considered one of the greatest sin. trying to control destiny and very egoistic move to make. if one who committed suicide could have been patient enough and avoid that selfish thinking, he would be dead anyway, cause would not be himself. i mean, someone who kills himself might think he is in action. but death comes from God. playing God for that matter is a great sin. i hope i am not confusing you. sorry if did ![]()

you made me curious too now my grand ma had dementia. she was not herself anymore. but she could talk, walk..etc. she stayed with us in our house. i always thought her situation was a test for us. she was like living in the moment and not remembering anything at all. she did not now herself but she was communicating with us anyway. so she was not responsible of her actions and she was still our destiny. that's what you're telling me, right? she was our destiny but what was her situation to herself? i don't know! but i'd like to know![]() Quote:
