Sometimes it is amazing to just look at the world around you. Especially if you are in a place relativly undisturbed by human settlement. The Bible says and I agree that nature speaks in a language understood by everyone.

Yes when we see the nature we know our god...
As muslim.. i find in Qur'an alot of ayat learning us this meaning: (10:5) It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand. |

Everything in existence is token of the Hand of God.
"A drop of the billowing ocean of His endless mercy hath adorned all creation with the ornament of existence, and a breath wafted from His peerless Paradise hath invested all beings with the robe of His sanctity and glory. A sprinkling from the unfathomed deep of His sovereign and all-pervasive Will hath, out of utter nothingness, called into being a creation which is infinite in its range and deathless in its duration. The wonders of His bounty can never cease, and the stream of His merciful grace can never be arrested. The process of His creation hath had no beginning, and can have no end." (Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 61) Regards, Scott

yes... i think this is something many faiths share... pointing to the beauty, delicacy, and ingeniousness of the natural world as a sign of God. as i read the Quran there are numerous surahs encouraging humans to consider the antural world as a living, dynamic sign of God's existence. there is so much beauty, surprise, and delicacy there, it's truly stunning.

God is my source of love. How can I view Him as evil?
I see His love all around me.I am in wonder and awe of life and nature. Of the universe that we cannot begin to perceive.I know how insignificant I am. But He loves me. From a previous post |

Some people think the moon is the result of a collision with the earth, were the moon broke of from the earth, and although maybe they have come up with some theory about it’s different composition and why the collision resulted in one large moon instead of several small ones, it’s hard to think it’s coincidental that what doesn’t produce it’s own light is our source of light in the night, and convenient for keeping track of months, and is needed for our oceans, when it is nothing more than a floating ball of dirt, but even man God has made from the dust of the ground and it’s no wonder that dust should reflect the suns light for our light at night, and a man can reflect the true light which is God’s although he is dust and ashes. Like the Bible says “we have this treasure in earthen vessels.”

AND TO GOD BELONGS THE DOMINION
OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, AND GOD IS OVER ALL THINGS COMPETENT. INDEED IN THE CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH AND THE ALTERNATION OF THE NIGHT AND THE DAY ARE SIGNS FOR THOSE OF UNDERSTANDING. QUR'AN 3,189,190. How clear are your signs O Great Lord, my heart aches for Thee. Knowing You is better then life it self. Peace. |

Okay now for some specifics- the word of God is related to rain, and it's results to the plants that grow. Also the human heart is related to the soil they grow in. The sun is related to the law of God, and lightning with judgement. (I'll add verses later, I'm exhausted now) Also times of trouble are compared to being overwhelmed with waves, peace to a river, rain can be either blessing or judgement from God, the rainbow is a symbol of God's promise, fire can be representing wrath, but not always. A lamb and lion are both compared to Jesus, as well as a star, the holy spirit is like wind, lustfull people are compared to dogs. ect

Sonic- it's remarkable you should mention this! just last evening at jumma a friend of mine relayed the human heart to soil, wherein the rain of God can penetrate and cause things to grow... or not. it's an oft-used but ultimately useful and vibrant analogy.
i have also thought of God as being something like the sun. my faith tells me that we are able to touch something of God's essence, and that He wishes for us to do this and strive for this before anything else... but we can not really touch God in His entirety- it would be like trying to place a hand on the globe of the sun- we would burn up before we could come close. nevertheless, the sun shines on us, and we are able, through this shining, to understand something of the qualities of the sun- light and warmth. if we go out into the shunshine and recognize these signs, that is the better thing. we can also stay within our houses and not seek out the sun's light, and remain in shadows.
