For members of the Abrahamic religions:
Have you converted from one Abrahamic religion to another? Were you brought up in a different religion than you now belong to? How and why did you convert?

I converted from non-denominational Christianity to Catholicism (RC). Dragged my feet doing it (3 years), but it was history that made me do it. That, and I was tired of interpretational anarchy.
EDIT: Previous to my dwelling in non-denominationalism I was brought up in a rather secular home.

Raised as a Muslim, still Muslim, hoping to die Muslima too, ISA!

I became a Christian by choice (in a non denominational household), and still am one, though the way I view things has changed - and probably will change again.

I was an atheist for many years, but studied religions as something of a hobby, mostly to figure out why anyone would bother believing them anyway. Quote:
And then the other part, where it was more of a "sheep hear the master's voice" thing. That parts a lot more difficult to put into words, but let's just say that reading what Baha'u'llah wrote convinced me He was who He claimed to be. |

No, to the OP. But of course I have to throw my .03 cents in.
![]() Was raised in an agnostic household. Was "saved" at 16 and followed that path for most of 30 years. Now, I consider myself agnostic again and more than likely have left the Abrahamic faiths behind for good. |

Raised Christian. In early teens, I decided that religion was bad but I never stopped believing in some form of God. Now I have just recently started to realize that it's not religion that's bad, but the things that get carried out in it's name. I have also realized that a life without faith kinda sucks. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will be converting to any Abrahamic religion. UU seems interesting.
