Same as joeboonda, one time when I was to young to remember and again after I got saved. We went to the Catholic Church a few times as a kid, I was intrested but I had ADD and could barely hear the guy so I didn't learn much. But other than those few times we mostly stayed out of church.

I said only once, when I was 17 in a Baptist Church. But I couldn't change my answer, I think I was baptized as a baby in a Catholic ceremony (I am not sure of this). So it was actually 2 and not 1.

Baptized after birth by the episcopal church (the roman catholics refused since my parents didn't attend church every Sunday and pay enough money into the coffers).
Baptized again by the baptist church when I was like 8 or 9 because I apparently needed to be saved and all that nonsense. One of the scariest experiences of my life. I am no longer Christian. I walked away from it in my pre-teens with my parents' consent (albeit disappointed and confused). |

Once as an infant into the Church of England and once as a believer as an evangelical.

I was baptized once, when I was an infant, in a Reformed church.
It came in handy when we were arranging our Catholic wedding. The RCC accepts Reformed baptisms as valid, and even though I was a Baha'i at the time, it made a difference in getting a dispensation from the Archdiocese (my husband was at least nominally Catholic) to have the Catholic ceremony. We had already arranged the Baha'i wedding, but on the advice of a Baha'i friend of mine we decided to have a Catholic wedding also, if only so the relatives would believe we were "actually married." ![]() I have no idea what possible difference it would make for me to have been baptized before I was old enough to have a chance of consenting, and when later I obviously did not consider myself a Christian, but I understand that Catholics (all varieties) do not view the sacrament of baptism as just symbolic. They have their rules, and that's their business. If we had not been able to arrange for a Catholic wedding, we would've just gone to the local Magistrate for a civil ceremony. |

My Mom still has some difficulty with me not being a Christian, but as she's quizzed the kids on the sly and they can actually answer questions, but their cousins, who are nominally Christian, have no idea what she's even asking, well, Mom has calmed down a lot. Also, we always go to her church and participate when we're visiting (which is quite a bit, really). |

I've been baptised once at the age of 20 by full immersion in the name of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. It was done at a non-demoninational church the weekend before Easter. I had been attended it for a year before I could even be consitered for baptism, even took the class before hand.
It was the best thing I've ever done. I'm glad I waited till I was in my 20's, I had wanted to get it done when I was 14 but I couldn't hack the church my dad wanted it done at. lol I didn't last a year before I had to face the truth about myself.
