Do you cry when you pray?

Sometimes, I cry when I pray. Whether I'm crying out of sadness in reference to who or what I'm praying for, or crying out of a sense of being overwhelmed with some positive emotion, it doesn't seem to matter. Every now and then I just get in this mood, and I cry.

I've seen tearful prayers among members of other religions also. At Eva's wedding, her mother (who is quite religious, and Jewish) cried during the prayers, but not at any other point - before or after.

I've seen people crying while praying at funerals and all that sort of thing before, but also at the re-opening of a Roman Catholic church.

When the Sarajevo Haggadah was displayed in its new room at the National Museum, people cried. When the old bride re-opened in Mostar, people praying on it cried.

All sorts of situations, really.

Usually only during eucharistic adoration or at Midnight Mass.

When you do, do you feel as though you want to love everyone in the world, or destroy the world? I feel both, depending on whether it's sadness or faith making me cry. :P

I hardly cry for any reason. I was trained out of that early on.

Crying was just wearing a sign that said, "attack me now."
