Why Is Dancing Immoral?

Fundamentalist Christians try to control Christian body movements and sexuality. Muslims, being fundamentalist believers, do the same thing. Thank God for the Internet and global communication. These sorts of puritanism will wither away under the reality of modern life. You cannot control it. You can only learn to choose rightly or wrongly and that's the way it should be. You are in charge of your life--not some ancient old man you never met and his modern cronies.

But I think it depends on the type of dancing and some dancing should be saved when it is appropriate for the age and development of the individual.

Elvis the Pelvis comes to mind as an example of why dancing bothers some people. I think they view some forms of dance as being too sexually provocative.

Are you actually suggesting that all Muslims can be characterized as "fundamentalist believers"? Have you even bothered to read the posts by Muslims on this forum alone, let alone done any study of the range of belief in Islam?

is inerrant. When I meet one who can take Muhammad's ideas with a grain of critical judgment I will let you know but so far, it's Muhammad's way or the highway if you are a Muslim believer.

Islam teaches Muslims to be clones of Muhammad's mind. I just don't see independent thinking in Muslims--I see parroting of Muhammad's words instead of individual thought processes. Same thing happens with fundamentalist Christians in their inability to answer hard questions by themselves in their own words without resorting to quoting Paul and using Paul's ideas instead of their own.

Muslims are in for a shock everywhere they go in Western lands when they think Muhammad has armed them with logical answers. He hasn't. But he has taught Muslims to carry forth his territorial ambitions to be master of the world from his grave.

that's an awfully grim view, messenger. do you really equate adoring and seeking to honor a religious leader with failure to think? why shouldn't a religious person seek to follow their faith's founder's example? can you think of a 'world religion' that does not do this?

hehe, i remember i had this fair-sized crush on a fellow class-mate from Syria. very smart girl, and religious. i'd get really cheered when she had to decline a hand shake or a hug from a male, cuz then i'd get to hug her in his place.
