There's a wonderful soup kitchen here in Colorado Springs that feeds about 500 people a day and is run by the Catholic Marion Charities. One of the things that makes it so cool is that there's no proselytizing the clients. Just charity, pure and simple. I think of it as truly in the Christian spirit.

It reminds me of a Ugandian Priest that was at our parish. I'm always curious of listening to how Catholicism is in other parts of the world. So it lead to his family's conversion story. He said a nun would spoon feed him as a child, showered his family with love, and he says not once did she proselytize. That doesn't mean we don't do it, just means we prefer to show it....

The wonderful people it has produced throughout the ages. And the sense of hope it has given to a lot of people in pretty hopeless situations.

The vast majority of Christians I know personally will go out of their way to help others, regardless of that persons religious beliefs, sexual orientation, skin colour, ability to speak english, short commings, or long goings.

-endless list of people with prophetic voice (i.e. WIlliam Sloane Coffin, Martin Luther King, ect.)
-great music, architecture, literature, and art.
