The way I see it, Fenrisulfr was a major threat that certainly needed to be dealt with. The fact that Ziu would actually sacrifice his hand to temporarily hold him down is easily enough to make Ziu my favorite. Locho on the other hand, is really a mixed character. Sure he helped the gods on many occasions, but in the end his mischeviousness was really too dangerous. Guiding Hadu to accidentally kill Balder was seriously lame.

I certainly wouldn't say that. How would Balder being invincible (except from mistletoe) keep the gods in power? Really all that it would do is give the gods a fun new game: Chuck stuff at the unkillable dude. What kept the gods in power was the fact that they could take on whoever opposed them. They protected us and unless you happen to be a giant, I see no reason to oppose them.

Yes, I suppose he could take on anyone if he wasn't killed. However, it should be noted that he was not a war god. To the contrary, he was associated with peace.
