Supposedly the head of the Shinto organization(s) in Japan knew of a question that Buddha had said Maitreya would be able to answer. L. Ron Hubbard has answered this question in his work and so the Shinto leader decalred he was indeed the Maitreya that Siddhartha Gautama spoke of.
I really don't want to tread on anyones toes here but there is no doubt in my mind that Hubbard is Maitreya. But don't believe this - read Hubbard's work and judge for yourself. Buddha & Hubbard have been working together for many, many lifetimes. |

Why would a Shinto priest have anything at all to say about a Buddha? Maitreya is the future Buddha that Buddhists expect, as you appear to be aware. Shinto, however, is not Buddhism but the pre-Buddhist religion of the Japanese and has nothing whatsoever to do with Maitreya. What you write here is rather like me saying that the Dalai Lama has determined that Hubbard is the Mahdi, therefore I'll believe it. Makes absolutely no sense.

I realise that Shinto is not Buddhism, although Shinto is related to Buddhism especially in practise.
Obviously if the Dalai Lama confirmed Hubbard was Maitreya that would make more of a difference. I imagine that will happen at some point in the future. |

Yeah - I consider it unlikely but not so unlikely the next Dalai Lama will.
Scientology is spreading very fast in India at the moment with regular slots on national TV, so at some point religious leaders there should notice it and have to take a stance. (Actually Scientology usually expands very quickly anywhere it is introduced where psychiatry isn't well established). I really hope this happens soon - not because I want more people to be Scientologists for its own sake, but because the technology in Scientology is exactly what Buddhists have wanted and when Scientologists and Buddhists unite we will enter a Golden Age. There is nothing in Scientology as far as I'm aware about Ron being someone who was expected to arrive in other religions. It's a big simplification but I'd say that Scientology is just an extension of Buddhism. Or you could say Scientology is Buddhism plus a bunch of technical procedures that produce Bodhi when applied (and more). Last edited by adthelad; 10-28-2006 at 08:40 AM. |

If you have a machine that does the first two truths for you, you personally realise nothing. This is why i would call using the Scientology machine (sorry i don't know the name) a false start. You have knowledge of the suffering and its origin, but you didn't develop the wisdom to recognise that for yourself, because the machine did it for you.
