This is a spinoff from Katz's wildly successful thread "I'll go to yours if you'll go to mine"
Instead, this will be a "I'll read yours, if you'll read mine." I'm offering to read ANY religious, humanist, secular text. As long as it is not pornographic or erotic or abusive in anyway. I'll read any books by early Church farthers, any Pagan writings, Buddhist teachings, etc. All I ask is that you try to read the Book of Mormon and if you don't have one, I can get you one for free -- no strings attached. This way we can all be able to discuss and talk and enjoy. Anybody willing to take me up on this offer? |

i have the link to the online BoM, it's onmy list of things to read
![]() allow me to ponder a suitable text.... if your library has any books by Scott Cunningham or Silver Ravenwolf, maybe Amber K if neither of those, though each writes different styles/interpritations of the variosu pagans faiths, and with different purposes in mind. i would rather suggest an author than a title with regards to pagan-based books, simply because of the diversity of the books available ![]()

I will take you up on it.
I've wanted to read the BOM anyway. My reading list is kind of deep right now, so can we plan it for sometime this winter? That will give me time to think of a book to suggest for you.cheers, luna

A neato idea Becky. Frubals to you!
If anyone wishes to see where my crazed views of reality first came from you are welcome to pick up a book by the American mystic, Jane Roberts. I wish her message had come in a different, errr... format... but what she presents certainly caught my interest. I first was introduced to her works when I was 17. If you want to get right down to the meat, check out: Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul (Prentice-Hall, 1972) If you are more interested in a general overview of her work, check out: The Seth Material (Prentice-Hall, 1970) Again, Jane and Seth helped to form the core beliefs of my own worldview and I have never had any regrets. Part of the magic of Seth's ideas is that he explains in several places how people will take his (and Jane's) ideas and make them their own. He literally describes how people are MEANT to alter his beliefs and to mold them to their own understanding. In light of ordinary rigid philisophical and religious teachings, I have always thought that that was a rather novel approach. I would also recommend staying away, at first, from her later works. If the reader does not appreciate the underlying premises to her thinking, the later works wouldn't make as much sense and could be a turn-off. It would be similar to attempting to understand Calculus before one understood Algebra. Do check out some of the comments written at the bottom of the page, by others who have been "infected" by Jane and Seth's thinking. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...24076?v=glance
