Default Jesus and the Cross

Oops ! I started writing this with one question in mind and got carried away

In all the icons and painting of jesus on the cross He is dipicted ( To me anyrate) as a meek slender build person.. How ever the events leading up and including His crucifixation would indicate That he was a strong well built person to have withstood all that. Has anybody else concidered this? He was whipped and had a crown of tho4rns placed on His head this would have resulted in loss of blood and weaken the average person, He hadn't slept all the night and was made to carry the cross to the place of exercution.
This raises another query Just How big was the Cross? It would have had to been very sturdy to support the weight of a man. Did He carry the fully assembled cross or Just the Cross piece? Also we know He was nailed to the cross, Any Ideas on How that would have been done and how it was raised so that it looks like the depictions we know today? Then as the bible tells us he was taken down so as not to be hanging there over the sabath. any ideas on how that was achieved?
Did the Romans Used scaffolding?
I am not debating the bible account here I am just interested in the Physics of the crufixication

Well as you know within the religion of Islam it is believed that it wasn't actually Jesus who ednured these viscious acounts of torture but it was a man in his image, so regardless it was still that weak looking body you're so used to seeing in all those pictures. Now as for it being physically impossible, under the supervision of God I'd like to believe that just about anything was possible. Whoever it was carrying that cross God wanted them to endure that pain and God was responsible for keeping him alive throughout the whole process. Now, if it actually was Jesus himself like the Christians believe.. the same theory applies. Jesus was meant to go through what he went through, so God allowed it to happen no matter how impossible it might have been. Now that is probobly not the answer you're looking for and I apologize for that, but it's the best I can do. I'm not too educated with the laws of physics, but I think that having a man nailed to a cross like that is def possible, as long as the nails were thick enough, and as long as the boards which the cross were made up of were thick enough... I think it is possible. As for the blood that must have come from the body of Jesus or the man in his image, I can see what you're saying, and I think that's where God came into play.

Peace and Blessings

I was gonna edit my previous post but i don't if you have read it or not... if you have seen the Passion of the Christ, you can actually see how it happened and how it was made possible for him to be raised on the cross the way he was. It seems logical, but again I could be wrong.

Click here for an article that describes the process of crucifiction as well as *why* the Romans did the scourging and other things.

I think he's saying that to survive long enough to even get to the cross, Jesus would have had to be pretty tough and fit. A weaker man would have died before he got crucified.

Also, even the strongest of men could not hold themselves up forever, especially after a beating like that.
