With the atheists one can be sure of one thing.
They argue their case with the utmost vigour and vehemence. There is no God they posit. As for the believers, they are zealous in presenting their position. God exists and we need Him they declare. To them their cause is noble and many have given their lives for it. Look through the pages of history and what do you find? No one has attained greatness by professing atheism. But the Mohammeds and Jesuses of this world became great by preaching godliness. Buddha did not focus on God. But even he achieved greatness by advocating right living. He exhorted us to think right, to have the right motives and to act right. God is a priceless commodity people have need for. Those called to advertise and promote Him are revered by their fellow men. And no amount of “arguments against” can alter this reality of life. I thank God for my calling as the Almighty’s advocate. Presenting God’s case is a cause I am irrevocably committed to. It is cheering to know that the proponents of godliness will ultimately be exalted – a fate its opponents will certainly not share. |

I take offense to that. It is as if you are telling me that as an atheist, I am not as good as someone who believes in God. No one has attained greatness by professing atheism is a bit of a reach, but even so, does that matter? Just because no one has been written into history books as an atheist speaks more of society than the merit of that individual. People expect belief in their God, and when someone speaks against that, they tend to be ignored and erased from history. Richard Dawkins is making a pretty good mark for himself in history books I would have to say.
