Question "religious artifacts" or "religious artefacts"

Hi,
Could you please, tell me what phrase, "religious artifacts" or "religious artefacts"
is more correct in English?
I mean objects associated with religious ceremonies like prayer beads, medals,
pictures and so on.
Maybe, there are some more smart terms describing objects of such kind.

the correct spelling is "artifact"

And, I don't think there is an all inclusive term for all religious objects....other than the obvious "object" "item" and the ever popular "stuff". Artifact is more of a word to refer to something old, like an archeological artifact, or an antique.

Well, both spellings are correct as they are the same word. "Artifact" is a modernised (Americanised?) spelling, whereas "artefact" is considered to be an 'archaic' spelling by some. "Artefact" is often the preferred spelling for Britain and other places that follow more traditional spellings of English and "artifact" is generally the preferred way of spelling it in the USA, though'll find example of both in all places.

So it doesn't really matter, it's the same word and both ways of spelling it are correct.

Many thanks, PureX and Revasser.
Am I right that term "religious paraphernalia" is used very seldom in English?

Not especially, I do not think. I've heard and read it used on many occasions.
