Vain or endless repetitions is just a term Jesus used in the Bible when He was teaching how to (not) pray, not an attack at 'heathens', not meant to be anyway. I wouldn't exactly classify a hymn as a chant, as they are longer and not like one word spoken over and over to go into a trance and what not. While I don't practice mantras, sitting quietly and thinking or praying with my mind, or taking a walk along a quiet path are fine imo. But, I am sorry, this is a place to post your favorite chants, I don't want to argue which ones are good or bad or anything.
