I'd say that those who claimed themselves to be Christian and persecuted Wiccans...weren't really Christians.

Why should present day Christians apologize for the acts of those who claimed to be Christian years and years ago?

That's like saying families today need to apologize for their ancestors' involvement in slavery.

Well, I believe that it's more of a peaceful way of kind of making up for past transgressions. Wiccans and Christians generally don't get along (from experiences I've had with Wiccans) In a way, i feel like we should solve the problem and make a closer relation like Christianity has to Judaism.

should either group offer an appology for history that we were not involved in? i 100% agree with studying history, learning from history, and working in co-operation to prevent history repeating itself, but i didn't burn any witches in the medieval ages! it would be like asking every day german people to appologise to europe for Hitler - we should accept it happend, and work together to prevent such a thing in the future, but for german people to appologise for it now would be for them to take responsibility, and they are not responsible.
