Maybe that's all the creator of the tarot cards meant them to be, just a way to think through your situation. Even though I don't use them, I'd like to think that.

i use the tarot, i have found readings to be true to my life situation. i do not pay for tarot readings, because i dont think spirituality should be charged for, but on the other hand, mystics also need to make a living, so im happy to donatemoney

i do readings for other people aswell, and the feedback ive had is quite positive

also, you do not need to be all high and powerful to use the tarot, you can start off by just pulling one card a day to focus your thoughts on - i still do this

I read tarot also. I have found them to be an invaluable resource in some of the toughest situations I've been in. Most of the friends that I have read cards for have agreed that it has been helpful to them too.

Could you qualify how it has been invaluable with perhaps an example?

Also as a general question: What do yall look for in a card deck? Are there different kinds and do you pray to a particular God for spirtual guidance through the tarot deck?

Why do you always steal my lines ? - Those were the exact words I was going to use. With me, there's no question of using them for 'divining the future'; merely as a meditational tool, and for guidance.

I have never tried the runes (but I can see I am going to have to). Although I tried the I Ching, I was not particularly keen on it.

First part of your question, I am not quite sure what you are asking (me being sllow, as usual). Which God ? for me there is only one.

First part of the question. I am assuming, and maybe wrongfully so, that there is more than one type of deck. If so, what types do you use and what do you look for in a deck .

For instance I play regular cards with a standard 52 card deck. If you were to ask me what I would look for it would be

1) one that has a coating making it easy to shuffle
2) one with large face cards cause many of the people i play are older and don't see as well
3) one with standard playing card faces as opposed to commerical advertisements.

the design of the cards can differ tremendously, but the meanings are the same, and the number of cards/suites are the same in every deck - as far as i am aware

i use a vampire style deck of tarot cards, with a nice glossy coat at the back making them easy to shuffle, and the cards are bigger than the cards in an average pack of playing cards

It does and the motive for creating the thread was to get a discussion going on tarots and the like with as little confines as possible. I realize

1) many on here use medium devices (crystals, balls, tarots runes, ect)
2) it is akward to talk about for many

So my main goal is sorta to make a comfortable thread for a free discussion of these things without threat of embarassment or ridicule. Honestly I am so ignorant of these areas that I am really not sure what to ask.

anyway, the sort of quetsions you should ask are not yes or no answers, rather, question that are open ended - for instance, the last one i did was "i am worried about my history exam grade, and how it will affect my university application" - leaving the tarot open to read into my situation

so, if you have any burning questions........ im happy to be your medium, i will do a reading according to the spread i linked, and post your results - no pressure though, of course
