Anyone else find this laughable coming from Bush? Bush Proclaims January 16 Religious Freedom Day Unites States opposes religious discrimination "in every form," president says Asserting that “the right to religious freedom is a foundation of America,” President Bush designated January 16 as Religious Freedom Day in a proclamation released by the White House January 13. The president called on Americans to “reflect on the great blessing of religious liberty, endeavor to preserve this freedom for future generations, and commemorate this day with appropriate events and activities in their schools, places of worship, neighborhoods, and homes.”

There is a government office to promote religious freedom? And it can't be applied at home?
Diverse sexuality is a form of religious freedom. |

Don't know if anyone has noticed but does it do away with Martin Luther King Jr. day also on the 16th? OR does it just blend the 2 since MLK was a religious figure that up till not so long ago not all states chose to recognize? I'm just wondering if there is more to it than what is stated...

From what I read, Religious Freedom Day is always on the 16th of January and the two holidays just happened to fall on the same day this year. It does not impact MLK, Jr. Day.

He announced it as if the USA did not already have religious freedom. I like Bush but he can be such a dip.
