It was so long ago I joined RF that I can't exactly recall how I stumbled across it on the internet. All I remember is that, at the time, I think I was having a difficult time finding interesting people to connect with in my real life, so a friend of mine suggested I join an online community. Somehow I ended up here, and I was immediately impressed with not only the diversity of people on here, but the cordial and welcoming atmosphere.

Real life took over in recent years, so I left for a while, but I've decided to stop back in again now that I'm experiencing a bit of a "lull" in real life. It's been refreshing to see RF hasn't changed much since I've been gone.

But aside from that I haven't experienced such tolerant and serious people here or anywhere else on the internet or in real life when it comes to talking about religion and philosophy.

Though I have to admit that there have been a few major bumps in the road here with other people and there is the irreplaceable troll or narrowminded person that shows up every now and then.
I wanted a place to learn about other faiths and a place to correct some common misconceptions of mine.

Getting into a good debate on science and politics is fun to.

There are trolls everywhere... but I find on the whole this place weeds it's garden well enough.

I was looking for somewhere I could discuss different worldviews/beliefs with people that won't get angry with a simple debate. And to be honest, I just like to debate and discuss :P

What were you looking for, when you stumbled into the Forums?

I was trying to learn to use the computer and learn how to search around , so stumbled upon this , tried a couple of others , religious forum is conciderably more broad minded than many sites that Ifound ,
was interested to see what part religion played in the lives of others , not just in my own tradition .

yep , its adictive
