After posting my last post about not sure of what kind of Christianity i was, i did some research. There was a religous group called the Cathars who believed the same thing. I then put together my own type of beliefs that im calling Catharadox, mainly because they had the same belief, but i still follow Jesus and God. Is it okay for me to do this?

Are you sure?
Catharism (11th Century) Catharism was a complicated mix of non-Christian religions reworked with Christian terminology. The Cathars had many different sects; they had in common a teaching that the world was created by an evil deity (so matter was evil) and we must worship the good deity instead. The Albigensians formed one of the largest Cathar sects. They taught that the spirit was created by God, and was good, while the body was created by an evil god, and the spirit must be freed from the body. Having children was one of the greatest evils, since it entailed imprisoning another "spirit" in flesh. Logically, marriage was forbidden, though fornication was permitted. Tremendous fasts and severe mortifications of all kinds were practiced, and their leaders went about in voluntary poverty. |

There are many denominations today started by people for a plenitude of reasons...
I was curious though.... what you found about Catharism that appealed to you? I can understand why someone on reading an account of an ancient creed would find it appealing perhaps and decide to fashion one of their own. And it seems to me that many people have their own self-styled religion and i have to confess i did this myself for awhile... It was comfortable at first and i learned some things but one of the only problems with styling your own religion is that you are your own boss basically and when your tenets are under stress and challenged, you simply change your standard or adopt new tenets.. this can go on for quite a long time... but consider that since you are often changing what you hold to be your religion...There's no one who hold's you accountable because you make your own standard and you've isolated yourself from others as no one else or very few holds to "Catharodoxy" or whatever else you call it. So in terms of spiritual progress, it seems to me it doesn't go very far in my view to do this. That's my two cents. - Art

Triple H, if you are inspired to create a new church what inspired you? If your convictions for your inspiration are strong enough for you to construct a paradign for a new branch what will enable you spirtually, to put the plan into motion, and will will hinder or stop you from doing so? What are your boundeires motivations and aspirations regarding your wanting to start a new branch?

My almost-newly formed religon goes deeper than what i posted. I belive the world is pretty much turning its back on God, and that the Bible is not involving enough to keep people strongly loyal to it. My goal is to create a church or religon that involves its members. To actually say they are their religon instead of just saying they are Christian and doing sin after sin, and not even care or think of it.

Have you done some REAL research into existing religions to see if your goals could be met there?

i want it to be noted, that i did say it was based on the Cathars, some of their beliefs were hard to understand to me. I did do some looking on the other Christian Religions, and none of them really seemed as mine did.

What inspired me to even think of this religion was the fact that i know many people who have converted from Christianity to other religions, mainly Atheist, which isnt really a religon, and Wiccan. I have nothing against other religions, however i just noticed the fact that they converted at all. I also noticed in Ezekiel in the bible, people who turned their backs on God were considered evil, and then they were told to be destroyed. I then saw the Cathars, who believed the world was evil, and had so strong a creed they did not ever change their beliefs until they were all destroyed.

thanks, i am working out the details as we type, and am starting to narrow it down to the world turning its back on Jesus and God.
