I'm obviously not a Christian, but I am curious about the prevalence of people wanting to change the Constitution..

There are some changes I'd like to make (like repealing the 16th Amendment), but they're because of my libertarian political philosophy, not because of my Christian beliefs. I don't think God approves of theocracy unless it's Jesus running things in person.

Indeed, I don't want to debate political philosophy with a libertarian, our views are too opposite, lol..

I voted no. The Constitution is close enough to God's view if people leave it alone. But, I could vote yes, providing I am the one who gets to say what God's views are. I didn't think you would go along with that, but it was only a suggestion.

No, i don't want a theocracy unless God himself is running it. Man telling me what i should or should not believe has never sat well with me.
And I believe in people's right to be wrong. If an Atheist cant' be an atheist, i can't be a Christian and so on. We need to protect all people's religious rights, even those we disagree with.

So many problems with this. This would depends on whose translations of Gods views were right. How would this be decided? There is so much infighting within the christian church and denominations are diverse. Would there be a council who would decide what God's ultimate views are. Would they ask God? Would God appear and explain what his views were?
Of course there is also the fact that not everyone follows the Christian version of God or any god at all. So many problems with this so I vote No. |
