I have: AA in English, BA in religion, MA in biblical studies, soon will have a Phd in New Testament.

If you want to be a prof, you need a Phd.

I think the fountain head from whence many of our ministers come has been poisened with the exception of a few, Churches would be better off cutting off these cancers from the route and electing members from within who are spiritually gifted as teachers and are recognised as so.

You mean seminaries run by churches? Perhaps I agree, having been intimately familiar with part of ministerial training in a variety of denominations for the past 11 years. There are certainly some bad apples, but that happens with the more people who have their hands in the cookie jar. I've seen seminaries completely destroyed by the power-lust of a few, and some have horrible leadership but magnificent teachers, and some are vice-versa.

That's what ordination essentially is in most Protestant churches. However, Protestants have a major problem in that they want their ministers to interpret the Bible with them (and perhaps for them), and in order to do that, they need to be educated, and thinking has proven to be fatal for Protestantism.
