This is intended as a companion thread to:
Conservative Heresies: What is a real Christian? The conservative Christian heretics add a laundry list of things that you have to believe in or do in order to be called a "real" Christian. Unlike conservatives, liberals usually don't hang around on RF and accuse people of not being Christian. Nevertheless, I have been accused of not being a "real" Christian by liberals who accuse me of not having their liberal view. There is an alternative group of Christians that propound liberal heresies. (A laundry list of liberal lunacies, so to speak) 1) Definitions do not matter at all, so we can just say the name of Jesus and believe whatever we want and be "real" Christians. 2) Denial of the Trinity 3) Denial of the bodily Resurrection of Christ 4) Mirror heresies of the conservative side only backwards: you have to accept the liberal political platform to be a Chistian, etc etc etc Have fun!

I've tried this problem on a couple of forums. I wanted to see, for example, if people thought that a Real Christian (TM) could believe in reincarnation, and how much belief in Jesus and, if ever existing, in any proposed actions and characteristics of his would be required.
I was surprised of the lame answers. I had expected and hoped for clear opinions, like You must believe that Christ existed and was killed and resurrected, and that this means that some of us perhaps might not be doomed to eternal torture, or that you have to believe in one only reincarnation, but most answers just said, like, You're a Christian if you think you are one. The OP "liberal political platform" is not meaningful to me in this connection. For at least religions other than Islam, labels like "liberal" and "political" mean nothing to me. In the very unlikely case that religion would be discussed in Sweden, they would very carefully be left outside of the debate.
