This thread is to chronicle my religious conversations with my wonderful fundie Baptist grandpa.
Stuff I learned from grandpa on this trip (or funny stuff): 1) Grandpa breaks for nobody. He almost killed at least 100 people yesterday in a Wal-Mart parking lot. 2) Don't let grandpa keep score for dominoes. 3) Seating arrangement at church this morning: grandma A_E, mrs A_E, A_E, grandpa A_E At the end of the service, we were just about to sing "When We All Get to Heaven." Grandpa says, 'Tell Mama I am going to the bathroom." Grandma A_E leans over to me and says, "What?!" I say, "I dont know. He just said he hated the song and he left." ( )4) Make sure grandpa has fishing gear in the boat before we drive 100 miles at 45mph. 5) Don't let him eat beans before you go. Or any other time. === Grandpa has a gay son, my uncle. Grandpa can't believe that queers (his words, not mine) want the same rights as everyone else. They should stay quiet and they wouldn't have any trouble. We then talked about how he was in WWII fighting for freedom, and why queers couldn't have the freedom that he fought for. That's a brain teaser for me. ![]() Anyway, the preacher at church this morning taught that those who believe in Jesus go to heaven. Only believe. Why do people want to kill ethics? I see people on one side saying that we're all gods, which destroys the basis for ethics, and on the other side I see people saying that we just believe something and everything is ok, no matter how we act. Just some food for not thinking. Have fun

angel.........nice post.......you are an angel
Jesus did not use the duality of God in competition and division to manipulate the lower layers of people's minds in order to manage relationships. He knew that those spiritually attuned and similarly oriented would find their way to one another, for this reason he met people from all social and organizational affiliations. He was not afraid because he could look at a wrong situation or a discordant occurrence with the thought that he could change it towards a real unity within the soul, which is already complete and perfect. The new Christian men and women who worship God in the soul replace the familiar bonds such as ancestry and common interests with a stronger bond of a different type. This is a bond and unity with everything through the soul. http://thinkunity.com |
