I am taking a liberation theology class this summer and have to write a paper on a Christian "theme" - compare and contrast it from traditional Christian perspectives and from liberation theology perspectives. For personal reasons I have chosen the Holy Spirit.
It's not meant to be a demanding paper; I could just base it on references pulled from our textbook, but I really would like to explore the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit doesn't get talked about much compared to God the Father or Jesus Christ. What does the Holy Spirit mean to different Christians? (or to non-Christians if you have a view to share) How do you perceive the Holy Spirit? Is the Holy Spirit "he," "she," "it"? How does the Holy Spirit act in the world? How does the Holy Spirit act in you? How is the Holy Spirit related to the Father and the Son? thanks, -lilith

Now see I know who the Father and the Son are but who is the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit whichever you personally call it? I never got that part as a kid and I once asked my mother but she danced around the question like a pro indicating to me she has no clue either.

![]() sorry i mistook your post as arrogance and not the fact you really do want to know what the holy spirit does, anyway in my life he is the messenger,he instructs me of things to happen in the future, enemies that i will soon have, instructs me of gods will to be done, also he seperates me from this wicked world by being united with my spirit.... ncjl...
Like GOD, His Spirit is ASEXUAL. Spirits don't need to be sexual. Neither are male or female (like the angels). The Holy Spirit is the GLUE that holds Christianity together! The Spirit is the counselor... helping us to devine God's will. As we obey the Spirit's instruction, we learn a bit more. The more we submit, the more the Spirit reveals.

Of course man was made in God's image: Do we all look the same? If not, I would suggest that the image was spiritual not physical and definitely NOT sexual.

Thank you, however, for your answer.Quote:

![]() How does the Spirit help us divine God's will? How do we know what the Spirit's instructions are? In other words, how do you recognize the Spirit as the Spirit and not "something else"? Also, what is the relationship between the Spirit and scripture? Between the Spirit and Christ? thanks! -lilith
