It's the idea (predestination) that either God has already picked who is going to heaven and hell and there is absolutley nothing you can do about it.

No. I believe that we make our own choices and God knows the outcome of each choice. Jesus commanded his disciples to preach His word to the whole world, He would not have said that if every one was already predestined.

He has given us the tools to live our lives.... what we do with them is our choice. Predestinations would be the same as God saying to us.. Run along chaps... live a good life... and if by chance I have already selected you, you will be a winner. On the other hand I may have already selected you for hell... but watching you strain and struggle to live a good life. will be fun for me anyway. It's Just a pity it will do you no good at all. .... I don't think so.... Do You?

I agree, that is not my definition at all. Actually God does not pick who will be saved. However, since He knows the future-thus we have prophecy, He already knows who will choose Him and who will not, they choose, He does not pick, He just already knows what their response will be. Anyone who has trusted Christ as Saviour is predestined for Heaven, God keeps them in His hands and nothing can pluck them out. God gives us to Jesus and of all God has given Jesus, He will lose not one. It is really Eternal Security, when we have trusted Jesus for salvation, we have put ourselves in God's hands and He said:
More Than Conquerors 28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[j] who[k] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[l] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. |

Yes I do believe in Pre-destination, the bible uses the word predestinated therefore I believe in Predestination, i am not such a person to disagree with the bible. God said it, I believe it.

Do you believe that such is the Biblical definition? The word is explicitly Biblical, so I'm interested in your interpretation of such texts.
