I always thought Wiccans accepted homosexuality in general. My neo-pagan friends are very accepting of bisexuality and homosexuality, and one of them is transgendered (though he is married to a woman.)
As for the Bible, it says little about homosexuality, and there is a strong case that the most problematic passage, Romans 1, has lost much in translation and in our ignorance of the original cultural and historical context. What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality, a book written by a Catholic priest (and available on Amazon) explains this in much more depth than I can. This priest has really risked his career writing such a book. |

Well, Jesus shot the purity laws full of holes (figuratively speaking), & I take everything Paul said with a grain of sand (also figuratively speaking). Paul wrote down some serious spiritual truths, but he also had some opinions that were not neccessarily those of Jesus. Many times, when Paul was giving his opinion, he prefaced it as such, but maybe not every time. The Bible is a great & holy book, but when people read it like a factual textbook, to be taken literally, they come up with some goofy, & sometimes dangerous views.
Not all Christians are Pauline homophobes. If Christian Wiccans are at a loss for which side of the fence to fall off on this issue, fall into love, friends.

Never met a wiccan with any concerns about homosexuality. From what I understand, wiccan "rules" are really simple: anything you do, good or evil, is returned three times over. That's pretty much it - deciding what is meant by "good" and "evil" is up to you. Apparently.

Apparently Gardner himself had some homophobic views: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_is...-homosexuality
And a fellow named Mark Ventimiglia who acted as a leader in the Seax-Wica tradition: No Homophobes In Seax-Wica Petition However, the overall spirit is definitely one of acceptance. While I'm not Christian Wicca per se, I do use both Neo-pagan and Christian symbolism in my spiritual exploration. What I find complimentary in them is the forgiving ideals of Christianity and the interconnectedness of Nature in Neo-paganism.

I stand corrected. I think my friend's literature had something about the 3 times yada yada yada. I recall Crowley wrote "do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law", but he was a creepy cat, IMO.

Isn't Christianity supposed to be all about love? God is supposed to love everyone. I can't imagine why Wicca would condemn homosexuality either, but I'm not a Wiccan so I don't know.
I say live & let live..homosexuality doesn't affect me so why should I have a problem with it? ![]() -Princess Dot

You must be reading the wrong Christian Bible then.
