As an Anglican, I am familiar with the Dominican Rosary in the approved form (according to the Roman Catholic Church) and use it often in my personal devotions.
Normally I pray the Latin version of the Hail Mary: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Is it proper or acceptable to use a variant Hail Mary in the Dominican Rosary? Such as: Rejoice Virgin Moher of God! Hail Mary, full of grace. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, for thou hast born Christ, the Savior of our souls. Amen. Would 15 decades consisting of one Our Father, 10 Rejoice Theotokos Prayers, and one Doxology (Glory Be to the Father...) also constitute the Rosary? James |

The only time I would ever say that you should "defer" to a certain version is if you are attending some form of public recitation... then it would be proper to recite the same version as everyone else, whatever it may be. In addition to the "normal" devotion, I carry a rosary wherever I go and recite prayers whenever I have a free moment... I'm sure I "miss" a Hail Mary often and skip a decade at times, but my point is - there is no "wrong" way to pray with the rosary.... JUST PRAY. ![]()

That sounds like a nice approach.
Thank you. James |
