Article from Chron.com
Vatican astronomer says it's OK for Catholics to believe in alien life, even intelligent alien life, as it doesn't contravene the Faith. Which is true. So, next time you get laughed at in the streets by some ignorant ill-informed person because you say you believe aliens exist, the RCC accepts that possibility too: and if anyone knows, they do. ![]() |

I have absolutely no problem believing in alien life. Why should we think we are the only living creations in this ever vast universe? In fact, why should we think that this universe is all there is? Why limit God?

Why aren't aliens mentioned in Genesis? Are they perfect? If not, then did Jesus go to other planets and get crucified there as well? Has god given us dominion over the alien creatures as he has over the organisms of this world? The list goes on... it opens up a huge can of philosophical worms.

I'm not convinced there is intelligent life in this planet, let alone in another.
