would be strange if aliens were more "evolved" as us since if they can fly to us and we can't fly to them it would mean that there smarter and that would imply that they existed before us, that would mean the creation story is faulty or atleast missing a couple passages.
if there dumber then us it means that god didn't end with us and that creation story is flawed

I certainly agree that if alien life is discovered it would open up a whole can of philosophical and theological questions and problems that would need to be worked out. But this could all just be pure speculation, we might just be alone. If that is the case then there is no problem at all. I tend to think that there is a good possibility that there is life elsewhere in the universe but that is just my opinion.
As far as the possible existence of aliens being a problem for scripture, particullarly the Genesis account of creation, I do not see this as being the case. The interpretation of the Genesis accounts in an allegorical and not litteral sense has a rich tradition in the Catholic Church going back to such Church Fathers as Origen, Augustine, and others. And the problems presented by the Genesis account only arise from a very literalistic and might I even say, generally Protestent interpretation of Scripture. PeAcE
