Here are some few reminders for everyone who wants to post in the Catholic DIR:
1) *This is a place for fellowship and learning. Hence, no debating is allowed. This applies to other DIR’s as well. 2) * Questions that are rhetorical in nature, otherwise defined as “the manner of asking question for a purpose other than obtaining information” (example: "Why are you so stupid?" [1]) are usually not allowed. 3) * Everyone is free to ask and share anything and everything about Catechism, Catholic beliefs and practices and anything under the sun that you can find connected with Catholicism as long as it’s respectful and promotes learning. 4) * For other information about the Catholic DIR and other DIR’s, see the "Discuss Individual Religion usage" part in the Old Forum Rules or PM a mod. *Update: In answering threads or posts in this DIR which asks about the official teachings (whether it be found from the Catholic theology, dogma, doctrine of faith and the like), let us try to stay VERY close on what the teachings realy say (research and credible links are of big help) in order to give a more accurate answer. Remember, your opinion is YOUR own opinion but it doesn't mean that it is what the Church officially recognizes. This is to avoid confusion or misinformation. Opinions are well respected and ACCEPTED, just make sure that it contributes to learning (to Catholics and non Catholics alike) and information exchange, not misinformation, arguments and other things not appropriate in a DIR.

It is also worthy to note that even though this is a DIR, proselytizing is not allowed. There's a difference when one wants to explain, share or educate others about his/her religion/belief system and when one wants to simply "recruit". If anyone sees that kind of post in here, don't hesitate to use the report button.

Important: please be aware of the updated forum rules, especially those pertaining to DIRs
10. Discuss Individual Religions Forums/Same Faith Debates/"Only Sections" The DIR subforums are for the express use for discussion by that specific group. They are not to be used for debate by anyone. People of other groups or faiths may post respectful questions to increase their understanding. Questions of a rhetorical or argumentative nature or that counter the beliefs of that DIR are not permitted. DIR areas are not to be used as cover to bash others outside the faith. The DIR forums are strictly moderated and posts are subject to editing or removal. -For any DIR or discussion sub-forum that is colored blue, non-members of that area are limited only to respectful questions, and are not allowed to make any non-question posts. -For any DIR or discussion sub-forum that is colored green, non-members of that area may make respectful posts that comply with the tenets and spirit of that area. This includes questions, as well as knowledgeable comments. The Same Faith Debates subforum is specifically for debate between members of the same faith. Members that are not part of a same faith debate thread's selected faith may not post at all in those threads. The Political "Only" subforums are also used specifically for that group and may not be posted in by members that do not correspond to the political position of the subforum. These two forums are colored purple.
