Friend Somkid,
The percievd world there is that perceiver and so this paradox. Do agree that however; it is necessary to always remember and establish that fact finally the perceiver and the perceived are to be one. Freind Koan, No typo error from your end but just to pointer that whats in the bowl goes to the bowel! hahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!! Love & rgds |

Friend Vandervalley,
Is the container [bowel] vegetarian? The distinction of vegetarian and non-vegetarian is to be understood in a different light. The Jain philosophy states that no one's life should be taken and so to live they only eat the leaves or fruits as they regrow even roots like potatoes are a no-no as that would amount to killing life. Other hand studies have shown that human digestive system unlike carnivorous is meant for vegetarian food and other studies show that protien from meat can be had from vegetarian sources. End of it all the body requires only few slices of bread to survive. Rest are all human desires from past karma. Finally if one can do even the mundane acts even like eating; CONCIOUSLY, one will be enriched and slowly the karmic cycle will be renewed conducive to enlightenment. Love & rgds |

Allow me to expound.
A monk, had spent some time in a monestry. One day after the midday meal, he asked the master," Master, I have spent some time in this monestry and you said you would teach me Zen!". The master replied, " Have you eaten your meal?" The monk replied,"Yes!" The master said," Now go and wash your bowls."

Friend vandervalley,
Zen means DYANA or alertness / witness. Finally it is only being a witness and not a player that is the objective. When the monk joined the monastary it is only to bring about this. A master knows when a disciple has acheived that, till then he is not to ask questions though he is allowed to but the result will always be the same. Go and do your work. the actual work at a monastary is meditation and be meditative at all times. The sense of humor is only perceived. Love & rgds |
