I say ;
"Interdependent arising" is the process. Common to all Shools of Buddhism it states that phenomena arise together in a mutually interdependent web of cause and effect. The five processes (always changing process) are the human body, fellings,perception, response and the flow of consciousness. These are not concrete, static , or fixed phenomena. We grasp at some of these processes to form an identity. Buddhism is an observation of these processes and avoidance of their traps.

The Zen answer is "it doesn't matter call it what you want". It is both and it is neither it is a matter of prospective. For me it is a way of life not a philosophy or a religion but of path that makes me happy.

Friends,
Once again attempt to bring out certain aspect which may help clear some doubts about buddhism being a process or only an intellectual theory. The first part of Ozzies explaination is correct. Now we must understand that we function mainly through our mind and this mind has various layers with concious, sub-concious and unconcious/id. the idea to be a witness in the present can happen only when we see things clearly without the minds prism and to do so it is necessary to be aware of even the unconcious/id part of the mind. To achive this meditaion is required which slowly brings awareness of the various layers and finally crosses all the layers/boundaries of the mind and man is then face to face with the naked truth. Theory with practice are both required. Masters always practice what they preach [theory] where as teachers only preach without practicing. Love & Rgds |

The one who has conformed his walk to the Middle Way preaches by simply practicing.

Friend Francine,
The statements both of us made are the same. He is preaching his practice. Theory is only at the MIND level and not at the no-mind level; there its only practice. Love & rgds |
