Is there anyone else who enjoys his writings? The books of his that I currently own are "Anger" and "Living Buddha, Living Christ." Any other authors you would suggest that are similar or any other of his books?

Hi, Becky -
Thich Nhat Han is a very accessable writer - and one who does a good job of conveying Buddhist insight, especially to westerners. Another one might be "It's Easier Than You Think" by Sylvia Boorstein, published by Harper, ISBN 0-06-251294-3 or Karen Armstrong's "Buddha" ISBN-10: 0143034367

Excellent taste, my dear.
![]() "The Heart of the Buddha's Teachings" is my personal favorite by Thich Nhat Hanh. His writings are what introduced me to the Dharma 12-13 years ago. May I also suggest Jack Kornfield? "After the Ectasy the Laundry" is a good one. I also need to plug anything by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, too. Anything by him is a good pick. Peace, Mystic |

A quote from Thich Nhat Hanh - Peace is Every Step
"There is no way to peace, peace is the way. This means that we can realize peace right here in the present moment with our look, our smile, our words and our actions. Peace work in not a means, each step we take should be peace. Every step we take should be joy. Every step we take should be happiness. Are you massaging Mother Earth every time your foot touches her? Are you planting seeds of joy and peace? Enlightenment, peace and joy will not be granted by someone else. The well is within us and if we dig deeply in the present moment the water will spring forth. If we are determined, we can do it. We don't need the future. We can smile, breath fully and relax Everything we want is here in the present moment. Peace is every step. Shall we continue our journey?" Ah, Thich Naht Hahn...a great teacher. I have read several of his books, Peace is Every Step' being my favourite.
I would also suggest trying some of the teachings by Ajhan Chah. He was a Theravadan Buddhist from Thailand, but it is interesting to see the similarities, although in a different style. |

Friends,
Appreciate all those who raed books; Reality is that reading hardly makes a buddha out of anyone ONLY MEDITATIOn does. through meditation all questions are answered all doors get open all boundries disappear as growth only starts when the mind stops so does all knowledge of the reading kind actually knowledge comes from within here books may/may not help. Meditate over IT. Love & rgds |
