WHITE LOTUS SECT: The adherents will be born in the Paradise of Amitabha Buddha,in a white lotus flower (pundarika).
BUDDHANAMASIKARA: (sans) The belivers always minding Amitabha,meditating on Him,or reciting His Holy Name, in order to reach birth in His Lan BUDDHANUSMRITI: (sans) Same as before. NEMBUTSU: Same ,in Japanese. NIEN FO : Same,Chinese. SHORT CUT: Shakyamuni Buddha left two teachings behind: 1.The Holy Path (Shodomon) and 2.The Pure Land (Jodomon). If the followers of the Holy Path want to achieve non-regression (avaivartika,7.th grade of bodhisattvahood) they have to cultivate for 1o ooo Kalpas! (aeons),while a Pure Land cultivator attain it in one lifetime. LOWER PATH: Adherents of the other sects think,that it is good only for ordinary people,without ability. TAOISM ,WITHIN BUDDHISM: because it promises everlasting life to the adherents ,and also has the "Three Holy Ones of the West",like taoism. The Amidist Trinity Jap. Amida Sanzon): Amida Buddha, Kwannon and Seishi bodhisattvas.AMIDISM: Dharmakaya Amitabha is the primordial Buddha,his environmental emanation is the Pure Land,where He incarnated as Sambhogakaya Amitabha. His thiswordly emanation is Shakyamuni ,as Nirmanakaya Amitabha. KOMATSU (Little Pine) The Nembutsu practicioners were ridiculed as followers of an inferior practice, but Honen, (founder of the Jodo sect,the first independent Pure Land sect) insisted on,that the reverse is the case. He wrote: "Tis called the little pine, I marvel why: Its towering branches Seem to touch the sky." Gassho and NAMUAMIDABUTSU Anraku. |
