I though MSG was monosodium glutamate, but I can't imagine you could make a Bible from that.

To answer your question more seriously, it appears that it's an abbreviation for something called the Message Bible. It sems to be a contemporary paraphrasing of the Bible (and hence, personally, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole). Here's the Wikipedia entry:

These versions can be an interesting read and can be useful as a 'commentary' on the Bible. But they're not necessarily what the Bible actually says. 'The Living Bible' and 'Today's English Version' are a couple of other paraphrased versions. |

"Take your hands off the wheel and let God do the driving" was all I needed to or wish to hear from Mr. Warren.
Like James, but for different reason perhaps, I wouldn't touch this line of thinking with a chainsaw.

"the purpose-driven life" is a good read, i read half of it but ran out of time
![]() MSG means message, the "message" version of the bible is a modern translation, frequently used by the vineyard movement - i understand the book to have been written by an author within the vineyard branch ![]() edit: once again, Wiki knows all... ![]() edit2: sorry, i should have read the whole thread before posting, i see James has already clued y'all in ![]() i go to a vineyard church, they use the message version, but it is not a study bible, it's aimed at almost "dumbing down" the bible to make it more accessible to every-day people...
