Beating othersm, and claiming other people as "property" is inexcusable behavior.
It happens even today. that same mentality between lovers. some guy beats his wife and calls him "His wife" in a posessive way as if she is property for him to do with as he pleases. which disgusts me.

The bible includes horrible morals. Sometimes one has to pick one's way through the thorns in order to get to the rosebuds.
