Aramiac Approach to the NT (gospel, hell, dogma, Hebrew)

I have heard people hypothesize that the NT was most likely written in Aramiac before being translated into Greek. I've seen books on this subject, I've ordered some so I might be posting more on the subject in the future. It's definite that they all spoke Aramaic, so why not take an Aramaic approach to the NT?

Paul and the gospel authors were addressing an audience that was either gentile or highly hellenized Jews of the diaspora. The only people that I know of that are running around talking about Aramaic primacy are Peshitta fans acting on dogma.

One piece of advice, though: if you on that board find a thread in which all of Vorkosigan, spin, andrewcriddle, Yuri Kuchinsky, rlogan and Amaleq13 participate, the discussion will be on a level where not all professors of Religious Studies can make meaningful contributions. To save you all the work: there is no tenable proof that the Gospels were written in any other language than Greek.

Hmm... Makes sense. Although I'm interested in taking a look at the Peshitta thing, not to digress or anything. Suppose they were bilingual, and Greek was heavliy influenced at that time, since the Greek NT uses Aramaic or Hebrew words they also had a Hebraic mind-set. I'll just bury myself in some books. Anyhoo...
