John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Sojourner said seek truth and life, Jesus said He was, the truth and the life, He is the way to the Father.....

I wasn't referring to God who was called "I am" I was referring to the title Lord, I gave you the scriptures that said "Jesus Christ is Lord".

And with good reason; Jesus himself "left that part out". Consider;

John 5 31"If I testify about myself, my testimony is not valid."

The way I interpret this;--

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".

--Is that it isn't supposed to be taken as Jesus, the man, talking about himself. His human identity is a non-issue "Of myself I can do nothing".

He is, rather, allowing the logos (the word of God) to speak through him. It's the logos saying, "I am the way, and the Truth, and the Life". Jesus the man is just the conduit. It's the logos sayin, "You want to know who I am? I am the Way, I am Truth, I am Life--follow the Way, ie; live in Truth, and you will truly Live".

Gladys and Mertyle were roomates. One day while Galdys was away, the phone rang, and after a few rings a voice came over the speaker, "Hi Gladys, this is your father...."

Mertyle, who was an exchange student from the tiny, backward kingdom of Bongloadia, had never seen a phone before and didn't know what to make of this machine claiming to be Glady's dad.

Approaching it cautiously she examined the phone from every angle and decided their was no family resemblence whatsoever.

After a moment Merytle decided to get it a cup of tea anyway (reknowned as Bongloadians are for their hospitality), just to be on the safe side.
