Is there a God? Why is a book the only place we can find him? Why has he set himself apart from the world? And why must we believe in him blindly and without proof? Furthermore, if the Bible is God’s word then why didn’t God offer proof that it is his book? Not the forbidden “sign”, just some kind of evidence. Proof could have easily been given to us without God having to show his face. For example: The Genesis story of creation could have included the nine planets in our solar system instead of a flat Earth, two lights, and stars. He could have addressed where he and the Angels hang out or talk about one of the other solar systems millions of light years away from us.
The person who wrote Genesis and the other books of the bible were totally unaware of the round earth and the immensity of the universe or any of these things. These people didn’t know about bacteria, the atom, or even dinosaurs that lived on the earth before him, yet we are to believe the authors got their information from the creator of all things. The bible actually tries to provide proof of its validity but when any of these things are tested they don't work. Below is the best example but not the only one: Mark 16:16-18 Jesus says. “Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in tongues. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them. Can anyone explain where I am misreading the above passage. Or maybe know someone who can do these things? Can anyone show me something in the bible that show that the authors were indeed in touch with the almighty? I really would like to see a post from someone who can explain these things. |

I think we can assume the bible is a book of stories (fiction).

You seem to make a lot of assumptions: most of them appear to be wrong.

I believe so. It's not. The real question is: Why has the world rejected God? Evidence exists all around us. Seeking proof for his existence or non-existence is a fool's errand.

The bible doesn't provide proof of anything.

You cannot find proof of God within Creation. Why assume that God is part and parcel of Creation and thus observable?
If God is the Creator, then He is not part of that Creation--He had to pre-exist Creation. Therefore there is no empirical evidence of God in a book or in the cosmos for that matter. If you wish to find God you have to do it by making a leap of faith, using reason as a springboard. "God has endowed man with intelligence and reason whereby he is required to determine the verity of questions and propositions. If religious beliefs and opinions are found contrary to the standards of science they are mere superstitions and imaginations; for the antithesis of knowledge is ignorance, and the child of ignorance is superstition . Unquestionably there must be agreement between true religion and science. If a question be found contrary to reason, faith and belief in it are impossible and there is no outcome but wavering and vacillation. " Abdu'l Baha, Baha`i World Faith, pp. 239-240 Regards, Scott

You mean ones you can't answer? You mean stay away from facts? 2 Timothy 3:16 says all scripture is inspired by God! You are not to good with the facts...
