Immersion. I'm serious.

I do agree with you but how did you come to that conclusion?

Well, from the description of Jesus' baptism, it would appear that He was baptized by immersion. He did, after all, come "straightway out of the water" which would be difficult to do if He'd just been sprinkled. That would be one big reason for my belief.

Agreed once again... no further questions assuming you already know that Jesus' baptism was approved by God when he said "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased"

Katz what are your views on baptism for the dead, because I see you are a Latter-Day Saint?

Whatever is done in the name of Jesus Christ I think would be acceptable.
I prefer infant baptism by anointing, because you shouldn't immerse a baby, and sprinkling lacks proper control (gets in the eyes and such).

In reply to what "angellous" said about baptism by anointing... by definition anoint means (To rub or sprinkle on; apply an unguent, ointment, or oily liquid to. To smear with any liquid etc.) First of all let me point out that Jesus told Nicodemus in Jn 3:5 "Verily verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of WATER and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God " so water must be used. Also in Matt 3:16 " And Jesus when he was baptized , went up straightway out of the water..."
I don't know if you've ever used the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance , but according to it the definition of baptize (in the Greek 907) is - To make overwhelmed i.e. fully wet |
