I stated in a previous verse that the LDS are more Christian than Roman catholics and i was asked to create a thread about it.
I wish to limit the discussion to specific biblical facts in so that we can have a meaningfull discussion that can be blown wide open to confusion. Here we Go, the LDS beleives: Quote:
This is consistent in part if not as a whole to the following verses: 1 Timothy 2:4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. and 1 Corinthians 5:13 God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you." The RCC according to Francis Cassily's book " religion: doctrine and practice on page 355 states this: ![]() I think thats cruel, I'd rather be mormon than catholic.... ![]()

The definition of heaven is not the same for the LDS as it is for mainstream Christianity. So the above statement in the quote is somewhat misleading. Personally, I think anyone who professes Christ as his redeemer and savior, AND follows Christ's commandments, is a Christian. Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, non-denominational, etc. A Christian is a follower of Christ. As to who will be "saved"? That requires more discussion. I am a former Catholic and I have never heard of Francis Cassilly. I have also never heard that quote before. You are right, the quote is cruel but I think you would find that most (if not all) Catholics would disagree with it. I always thought 'Christian' meant 'follower of Christ'. Different Christian-based churches have different interpretations and traditions, but I don't think one is "less Christian" than another.

I honestly don't believe that one person is more a Christian than another by just their denomination.
I see the generalization of Catholics. I was never fond of generalization, since no one actually fits a generalization except in satire.
