I believe the Bible teaches that perfect obedience is required to have a relationship with God as your heavenly Father. On the other hand, a single act of disobedience puts you under the curse and wrath of God as Holy judge. So, what are we to do with God's requirement of perfection of obedience, since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God? I think the life and death of both Adams as mankind's representative is the key to understanding Christianity (Rom 5). How do you see it?

I suppose the depends on how you define the relationship. In order to be adopted into God's family one must be born again and in order to do that one must believe on Christ. The Father-son relationship after that is affected by sin.

Accept Christ. But accepting Christ is the prerequisite regardless of personal sin.

Up till now I haven't seen the relevance to the OP and here I have no clue as to what the life of the first Adam has to do with the OP and I see no clarification as to what the life of Christ has to do with salvation. Could you unscramble the concepts and offer a little more to the OP?

Romans 5 and Christ as our representative. Christ obedience becomes our perfect obedience (life). Christ's death becomes our death.

All this says is that His sinless life made Him acceptable as the sacrifice for sin. That's a given. His sinless life saved no one, it only made Him eligible as a sacrificial offering. The blood atonement payed the price for sin and opened the door to eternal life.

Couldn't you then say that if his life allowed him to be a sacrificial ofering, therefore allowing his death to be the blood atonement for sin and open the door to eternal life? It seems from that that without the life he led, he couldn't have died like he did, which means his death would have meant nothing to us without his life.
