How well do men relate to being the bride of Jesus? How do they fit themselves into that role. Its easier for women to imagine being a bride, but I would assume not a man.
I mean can you imagine telling Vin Diesel that he is the future bride of Jesus. |

Sure it does
How would you have felt is Jesus was going to marry a man then and you were that man, but actually you are a women. Would it make it easier to relate to the concept or idea of a bride? And how do you feel about the fact that the bride is a whole lot of people? And why cant christians decide whether they are the body of Christ or the bride? Heneni |

Thank you exhausted. Please feel free to voice your comments.
I believe I was united with God on the cross, since it was then that I was IN christ, thereby he united me with Him then. The bible does not say that it is a future bride, but rather an existing bride. So the marriage happened then on the cross. The marriage feast still in the pipeline. I would think that god uses metaphors for the purpose of us understanding things better. I dont really see how referring to the bride of christ as a collection of men and females helps men relate, its easier for me than for a man, though i dont see them struggling too much with it, just wondered if they just keep quite about it, or if they just accept it. Christians seem to pass over the concept of the body of christ and the bride of christ like there is no real difference. But surely there must be. Heneni |

The bride is symbolic as it refers to the church. The Groom is symbolic for Jesus. This represents the time when Jesus returns to redeem or take his church(followers, Christians, believers, etc) to Heaven....and what will be referred to as the Marriage supper of the Lamb,(Lamb symbolic for Jesus)
The Bride includes all believers (male and female) Anyone who is redeemed by the blood of Christ and is born again. I am speaking this for the Christian religion, I don't know how other religions view this. This is the belief from the Holy Bible Blessings Charity

Hi Charity
Do you think there is a difference between the body of christ and the bride of christ? |

I think that we ( the Christians) consider ourselves part of the body of Christ, because we have accepted him as our Lord. Before Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane he took his disciples to an upper chamber (upper room in a home) He told them he desired to eat the meal he called the Passover with them. He took the bread and told them it was his body that was given for them, do this in remembrance of me. Then he took the cup of wine, it was to represent the blood that he would shed, to cleanse our sins. When we have this sacrament or (communion) we do so in remembrance of Jesus. We (the church) are part or members of the body of Christ. Like I explained in the previous post, the church is symbolic for the bride of Christ. This symbolism is made known by the parable of the 10 virgins, Mat 25:1-13. This is where we find that the virgins, are symbolic as the Bride of Christ, which I mentioned in the previous post. So therefore, I must conclude that either term is both used when referring to Christ and the role of the church or the Christian.....I hope I'm not confusing you, and I hope if you want to discuss it further you will email me and I will try to explain further. Blessings to you and peace.......Lovingly Charity

We will be equal with Christ and inherit all that he has inherited. The husband and wife relationship should not be an oppressive one, but one that elevates, both involved, to the highest possible levels. It's all in how you look at the relationship. Last edited by FFH; 05-03-2008 at 11:48 PM. |

The wedding feast is portrayed as an event where there is a groom (Jesus) the bride and wedding guests. Do you think there is a group of people who are not the bride, but wedding guests? Love Heneni |
