These are they whom are the bride of Christ. "No one comes to the Father, but by me" ~ Jesus Christ~ Either we are Christ's or we're not, there are no guests, only those whom have been invited and have accepted the invitation by doing the will of Christ and professing him as Savior. Remember the man who tried to attend the wedding feast and he was turned away because he had no wedding garments ??? Doctrine and Covenants 58: 11 (LDS scripture) And after that cometh the day of my power; then shall the poor, the lame, and the blind, and the deaf, come in unto the marriage of the Lamb, and partake of the supper of the Lord, prepared for the great day to come. Christ loves all, but there are conditions for obtaining salvation and exaltation with Christ and our Father in Heaven.

It doesnt seem like paul included himself in the bride, he was labouring towards her perfection and holiness.
He wants to present her to jesus as holy...he doesnt identify himself with the bride. Speaking to Johns desciples: 15Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. 34Jesus answered, "Can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? 35But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast." 7Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." 9Then the angel said to me, "Write: `Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' There will be no guests at the wedding feast, only those who have been invited and have accepted the invitation and have "R.S.V.P.'d in advance. We can't wait until the last minute to accept (turn from sin). No guests will be welcome in the end. The door will be surely shut. I get your train of thought, do you get mine ??? I feel your good spirit. Peace Last edited by FFH; 05-07-2008 at 02:27 PM. |

BTW, I don't attend church either. I work 7 days a week, 11 to 12 hours a day. I'm at work now, it's very slow, the economy is all but shot.
Christ will be appearing soon, no doubt about that. We all need to "ready" ourselves by turning from all sin, by "denying ourselves of all ungodliness," "wherein we take up our cross and follow him". I've been working on getting rid of all sin from my life so that hopefully Christ will accept me as part of his bride. Last edited by FFH; 05-07-2008 at 02:26 PM. |

And it is god the father that sends Jesus to come and fetch her. Its the same with jewish tradition. The father giving the ok for a son to marry the bride. The spirit and the bride say COME! Its the bride that calls jesus to come and fetch her. Its god who gives Jesus the word, that the bride is ready and acceptable. He is the one that decides when she is ready. Jesus has forever been wanting to come back for her! I am eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus, can hardly wait. Every day i pray for his return! We will all have our place in heaven...jesus said that there are many places in heaven. No one will be left out. He is not just interested in his bride, but in what I believe to be the wedding guests. And everyone beautiful and wonderful in the eyes of god. The bride will be with Jesus, and Jesus and the sons of god will be made rulers. The old patriarchs will receive their promises from god, and they will be mighty men of valour in heaven and on earth, the new earth and there is a place for you too. Heneni |

Oiy! As if weddings weren't difficult enough,
now we have to argue about who's the bride, and who are the guests. ![]() I'll just meet you all at the reception later. ![]() You'll find me at the piano. (thank GOD I know who I am!)

The part in blue I totally agree with and have voiced that on this forum a few times. Our righteousness triggers Christ's return. This is a Biblically sound statement. You know your stuff. I wouldn't change a thing with this post. Last edited by FFH; 05-07-2008 at |
