Our natural body is symbolic for the body of christ, and like Jesus we have to crucify it. We take up our cross daily. Your spirit inside your body is the bride. It is holy and forever at war with your body. Love Heneni |

Clearly those who don't profess Christ as their savior are excluded from the wedding feast, but there are also those Christians who won't be ready when Christ calls forth his bride (Christian church). The parable of the "Ten Virgins" suggests half of those who profess Christ as savior (Christians) won't be ready when Christ returns, the reason being they are, and will be, entangled in various sins. We are the bride of Christ, we are more than guests, we are the collective bride, all who are unworthy to be called the bride of Christ, will be turned away. I don't think there is anything in the Bible to suggest there will be guests. Either you are worthy (Christ's bride) or you're not. In order to be worthy when Christ comes we must "take up our cross and follow him," meaning we must deny ourselves of all ungodliness (sin). It is possible, we only need to make the decision to do it, otherwise the door to the wedding feast will be shut and we'll be left standing outside. I would hate to be here after Christ takes all worthy Christians off this earth. Chaos will be the norm until Christ returns again to earth with his bride to set up his kingdom on the earth. Hello FFH
Wow, i wonder if there is anything we can agree on??? ![]() I think there are wedding guests I think the parable of the ten virgins have nothing to do with the bride I think that the bride is not the same as the wedding guests. About the bride then.... God married Israel then divorced her. What do you think is the right thing for God to do? Re-marry israel or marry another (us). I think that if we look deeper into this matter we will be surprised who the real bride is! Heneni |

This has nothing to do with "Christians deciding." It has everything to do with the use of metaphor to explain the mystery of the relationship between Christ and the Church. The Church is the Body of Christ. The Church is also the Bride of Christ. This is theologically consistent with the Biblical statement that "they (man and wife) shall become one flesh."

Hello Sojourner
There are to many conficting messages about the bride in the bible and from the mouth of christians that I hardly believe anyone has it right. God married Israel then divorced her. What do you think is the right thing for God to do? Re-marry israel or marry another (us). |

We are not "another" from Israel, at least from a Biblical POV. We are an extension of Israel. And, for the record, Israel was unfaithful -- not God. But God has always made provision for reconciliation through repentance.

LOL
HuH? Ok, let me refraise that so that you could have an opinion without sounding superior to god. What according to the KNOWN standards of god, is what god would choose to do? Go back to israel, or marry the gentiles? |
