Some of us Christians don't believe Genesis is a history book.... they are stories... fables.... myths.... whatever.... that may or may not teach a specific truth. It's no more a "contradiction" to us than Stewie being able to talk on "Family Guy"....which is much more fun than the Bible, by the way.

yes, I do understand that there are various degrees of literalism of the Bible by Christians.

And I do understand and even agree that he factual errors in the verse i presented do not in any way harm the point of hte message.

HOWEVER, for those who claim that the Bible is completely without error, they are flat out wrong.

Well.... don't mean to split hairs.... but I DO believe the Bible is completely without errors.

Like I said.... most of these "errors" are actualy literary critisisms ..... no more an "error" than what could be found in any other literary work that does not present itself as a history book or the like.

The verse I presented is a prime example of an error in the bible.

If you choose not to see the error for what it is, that is your prerogative.

Answering all my alleged contradictions? Alleged? Lets go back and look at these. Maybe I missed something you didn't.

One says that Solomon had forty thousand the other states that he had four thousand. How can these two contradicting statements be true? You yourself said that two contradicting statements can not both be true. Both of these scriptres are in the Bible. Therefore there is at least one contradiction in the Bible. Your claim that the Bible has no errors has just been proven false. But lets continue...
