For LDS in particular, are FLDS considered Mormons also? I'm curious, since I not sure of what the differences are other than FLDS still practice polygamy I think.

They are their own and separate Church. They are not a part of our current membership, nor have we ever counted them as. |

Some of the FLDS consider themselves Mormons, because some, or all (?) still use the Book of Mormon. It's getting confusing. Maybe this is why the LDS leadership encourage the use of our actual name. However, our formal name is also similar to the formal names of the breakoff churches.
LDS, RLDS, FLDS . . . we've become like mainstream Christians, we now have to say "mainstream LDS", and even that's not clear to some. |

It might help to think of the FLDS relationship to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as being similar to the Protestant relationship to Catholicism. When Martin Luther broke with the Catholic Church, he did so because he was opposed to a number of Catholic doctrines and practices. The Lutheran Church today retains certain teachings that are similar to those of the Catholic Church, but I don't know of anyone who considers Lutherans to be Catholics.

Any who consider the Book of Mormon as holy writ can, by that positioning, be labeled Mormon. The FLDS and LDS would be different Mormon churches. As different churches there will be differences in belief. One simple example would be the practice of polygamy.

Plygamy, Blood Atonement, Xenophobia, property ownership (the Church owns everything and only gives you a portion of what you need, replacing the law of "Tithing", commonly called the law of "Concecration") just to name a few

Are those actual doctrines or just practices by the FLDS?

yes doctrines,
Blood atonement - very real doctrine, it is a scriptural based doctrine akin to the death penalty but with a more religious meaning All except White skinned people are "cursed" or "marked" they take the Lamanites and Cain's markings to the extreme. Thier Society i'm sure hitler would have enjoyed because of his ideal world. Thier Law of Concecration is doctrine, but we practice it quite a bit differently, While they give all thier posessiosn up to the church for thiewr leaders to distribute.....We, on the other hand, concecrate our time and talents and efforts to the lord in helping one another and building up his kingdom.
