In Revelation chapters 1-3 it refers to 7 different Churches which all have different things that they need to work on, which connotates different beliefs. Can this mean that they are all christians but different denominations? I believe that it is very pompous to think you belong to the one true church and dangerous as well. You may treat others the wrong way if you believe them to be going to hell. In my beliefs you must treat all other human beings with respect and kindness.

The fallacy is that, in our age of multiplicity, the one true Church spans across denominational lines. (It really has always been this way.) If one reads the NT carefully, one will see that the different churches Paul works with and talks about are quite different in their perspective and operation. Yet, they all comprise the one Church, because they all profess to follow Jesus. It is pompous to think that your church is the only one "in the club." It is dangerous to presume that others are going to hell. We are enjoined to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves. As we continue to emulate Christ, to look for his return, and to improve our interrelationships in love, we can erase (or at least diminish the predominance of) denominational differences that seek to differentiate and divide, rather than expand and enrich us as a whole Body.

I personally believe it's one of several verses which speaks against the authority of one true church.

I believe that there is one body of Christ and that this body includes all who follow Christ...church affiliation is a non-issue because it's not about the Church...it's about the collective body.

No, the passage shows Christ teaching his Apostles where the boundaries of the One True church lie.

I think the idea of One True Church is biblical:

Eph 4:5
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

I think it says that God has the authority to allow people to act in His name. Also, had Jesus given the keys to Peter at this time, and if He had, does that preclude Jesus Christ from giving one the authority to act in his name? That does not mean Christ had given the other man the authority to administer the church.
