Matt.16:[28] Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

There are only three possibilities:

1. Jesus was mistaken about when he would come into power.

2. Some people who were alive during that discourse are still alive today, 2000 years later.

3. The birth of the Church (body of Christ) on Pentecost day, with the coming of the Holy Spirit, was the event described by Jesus where the Son of Man comes into his Kingdom on heaven and earth.

That is very harsh... Many Christians like myself do not believe every thing in the Bible as factual. Much of the old testament is ancient myth. and much of the words in the new testament were not heard by the writer.

There is great scope for misunderstanding and error to have been incorporated.
I think the passage in question unlikely to be the actual words of Jesus, because however you read it it makes little sense.
However I would not care to speculate If it is words put into his mouth, or a misunderstanding.
One must understand the Early Christians believed the return of Christ was imminent.
I suspect the passage was a re-interpretation of that belief, rather than the actual words of Jesus.

I think I agree with you. I wish A_E would buy in on this discussion, but I think I'm correct in saying that, if the quotation in question is to be considered authentic, it almost has to possess a multiple attestation in both Q and Thomas. Neither Q nor Thomas attest this particular quotation.

There are those who are translated beings or resurrected beings who are among us. they are not allowed to interfere with the course of mankind. they were commanded to wait and watch.
