What is the significance of animal sacrifices in the bible? (ritual, Moses)

People might argue that animals have no awareness/souls but how come they depicted animal sacrifices as acceptable to the self proclaimed god? Haven't you seen a dog wimper when it is hurt or heard a pig being slaugthered? They emit a human like feature. If the bible is the truth shouldn't gentleness to the fellow creatures be included, in genesis it even depitcs animals were created for humanities enjoyment. But why the slaugther of these creatures as offerings to the self proclaimed god, whats the purpose?

Genesis says that God gave humanity dominion over the animals, not that they were put here for our enjoyment.

We have put and end to animal sacrifice. We no longer need to sacrifice, now that Christ has sacrificed himself once, for all.

Didn't the awareness said that it is the god who created everything, thus it self proclaimed itself... no one ever challenged it during those days due to lack of understanding of how the mysteries of nature worked.

why does G-d care about anything? does it effect Him? does He get tax breaks?

Korbonim were the mode of service in the Tabernacle and Temple. The Torah is very particular about how and where a sacrifice is done, and just like in slaughtering an animal for food, the death should be as painless and humane as possible, hence the particulars of how kosher slaughtering is performed.

Sages and Rabbis have looked into the deeper spiritual meanings behind the sacrifices and what the sacrificing of animals symbolizes.

Remember, also, that not only animals but plants and grains were offered in the Temple as well.
